Is it true that a T-rex's vision is based on movement or was that theory discredited?

I was watching Jurassic Park last night and they all said that the T-rex couldn't see you if you didn't move, but i could have sworn that theory was discredited. Is it true that a T-rex's vision is based on movement or was that theory discredited?

TRex has an excellent vision capability. I would suggest reading the link I gave you.Is it true that a T-rex's vision is based on movement or was that theory discredited?
False. That was never a theory. That's just Michael Crichton

a) not thinking

and b) patching dino DNA with frog DNA where the dino stuff was not available.

Vision based on movement is useful only for animals that eat a meal in one bite -- e.g. frogs, toads. Imagine a T. Rex killing something big, and then because it wasn't moving any more, disregarding it. Yeah right.
Michael Crighton explains it better in his book. He postulates that dinosaurs have amphibian-type visual processing. They only respond to movement, but they can see just fine.
