Does the old theory hold true, that if someone sits too close to a T.V set, it can make their vision go bad?

We are using way different technology now, so does it still pose the same threat as it did in the 50s-90sDoes the old theory hold true, that if someone sits too close to a T.V set, it can make their vision go bad?
No.Your eyes have specialized muscles that control the shape of the eye lens for focusing and your eye movements. if an object is closer to the eye, as when you are close to the TV, the muscles controlling the lens automatically change, or accomodate its shape to bring the object into proper focus. TV won't harm the eyes, but may cause fatigue if you are sitting too close for a period of time.

Enjoy the day!Does the old theory hold true, that if someone sits too close to a T.V set, it can make their vision go bad?
It`s the length of time that you do it that`s disturbing to the eyes, If you`re sitting too close, your eyes have to travel back and forth to follow the action. If you sit farther back you get to see the whole picture without all the tiring eye movement. It`s the same today as it was then.
No. This is an old wives tale. Sitting too close to the TV is not now, and never has been, detrimental to vision
It wasn't a threat in the '50s and it isn't a threat now.
NO NO NO NO NO%26gt;
no, but it does block the view of others.
I don't know but my daughter is three and I'm constanly telling her to get from in front of the tv LOL
