share your thoughtsWas Julius Verne a prophet? since his visions came true.. ?
Verne predicted the inventions of helicopters, submarines, projectors, jukeboxes, and other later devices. He also predicted the existence of underwater hydrothermal vents that were not discovered until years after he wrote about them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jules_Verne

Prophet can be defined as one who foretells the future or interprets divine will. http://www.business-words.com/dictionary鈥?/a>

In one strict sense, he can be considered a prophet, however, he never claimed to interpret divine will as those prophets who were of the Bible.Was Julius Verne a prophet? since his visions came true.. ?
Well, some of his prophecies came true, and some didn't.

In Paris in the Twentieth Century (written in 1863), he accurately describes fax machines, automobiles, superhighways, and traffic jams. In his novel, the young people no longer read the classics -- instead they all go to concerts to listen to ';electric music.';

So far, so good. But in his fictional future world, none of the young people want to study anything at the university besides engineering. If he could have really looked into the future and seen the proliferation of ';Victim Studies'; departments in the universities, it would have blown his mind.
It's Jules Verne, and no, he was not a ';prophet';. He was a smart guy with a great imagination.

I would put Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo and Thomas Edison in the same category.
oh hai, he never wandered around the desert wearing a robe, so no.
