In 2012 will Nostradamus's visions come true?

what will happen? In 2012 will Nostradamus's visions come true?
the aztec calender ends at 2012 but my theory is that the rest of the calender was just never made, never finished, stolen, or just withered away through the time OR haha that was only as far as nostradamus saw so it kind of looked like the end because that was the last that was seen...just a theory:0)In 2012 will Nostradamus's visions come true?
This is a science forum, but there is absolutely nothing scientific about Nostradamus. His 16th century ramblings can be interpreted to mean just about _anything_. All his ';predictions'; are only discovered after the event occurs by someone going back and reading the event into his meandering texts. He says absolutely _nothing_ about 2012. You say ';t.v. shows everywhere'; -- everywhere? Have you seen any TV shows about him anywhere other than the History Channel? They have become as unreliable a source of information as the National Inquirer and Fox News!

Scientists don't expect anything out of the ordinary to happen in the year 2012, or specifically on the date December 21, other than the solstice, which happens every year.

None of the ';predicted'; happenings for 2012 hold up under close scrutiny. ';Planet X'; and ';Nibiru'; simply don't exist. The Mayan calendar ends a cycle, but there were no predictions of the end of the world. The Sun doesn't line up with the galactic centre; it's 6 degrees off. No asteroids or comets are actually predicted to hit Earth.

All of this stuff was put together by crackpots in order to promote their books and TV shows, and shamelessly promoted by the History Channel. Don't take any of it seriously!
If you learned at school, that Nostradamus is right and able to make predictions, please give me the name of your teacher, so I can report him to your school board. This is completely nonsense, just as much as the Quatrains he had written. Nostradamus had never any kind of correct prophecy. I know how his followers claim: Oh he predicted 9/11, just look at these 4 lines out of about 25000. Then, you read some nonsense, which speaks of towers collapsing. But what they don't say: Nostradamus predicted it for the 17th century. And before 9/11 happened, they had been as unaware as most people in the world. Where is the prophecy? I want to see one single event, which the interpreters of Nostradamus religious hatred for the protestant reformation (Nostradamus was deeply catholic and if you look at his prophecies, all bad things with a city name mentioned happen to protestant centers) predicted before it happened. They can't look into the future, just as much as Nostradamus was always wrong. Geneva is still standing and living happily. Even with decades of particle accelerators below.

What you see in TV does not mean it is real. Otherwise, we would be existing in 2300, flying with warp spacecraft.
I can make a bunch of predictions of doomsday in some very archaic terms, open it 1000 years from now and some if not all of it will seem to have occured. It's just a matter of statistics. If you put things in an ambiguous enough manner, it can be interpreted to mean just about anything you want. So he says he saw a big bird hits a tower, so people say oh that must be 9/11, while in fact he was sitting outside the cathedral and a bird just flew into the tower.

Edit

To add to Geoff's statement about the History Channel. I must say that I used to watch that channel a lot. Here's an example of some sloppy programming on that channel. You see I'm somewhat of an expert in archery, recently I saw a show where they claimed that the Mongols used to shoot bows with arrows moving at 300 fps. I know for a fact that that is impossible. Some modern hunting compounds don't even go that fast. I've seen war arrows being shot out of a 95 lbs mongolian bow, they go at around 180 fps. So there you have it, don't believe everything you see on TV, specially that channel.
Nostradamus never predicts anything correctly. His verses are so obscure, they can be made to mean almost anything. When a major event takes place, his followers look at his writings and say ';Ah yes, that's what he must have been talking about';. When not even the most liberal translation of his verses can stretch their meaning to cover some event, they just invent another verse and pretend he wrote it. When they try and make predictions for the future, instead of the past, they invariably fail, as will be the case in 2012.
The only thing thats going to happen in 2012 is that we will be sitting on the galactic plane. There is a chance that we will be recieving some high amounts of Gamma rays, but its all speculation. The big deal about this Galactic plane setting is that the Sun, Earth, the moon, Jupiter, and Saturn will all be in a straight line with sagitarius (Which is where the galactic center is). You dont have to worry about any Strange catyclysims happening, Maybe just get some higher spf sunblock. lol. BTW, im not completely sure its Sagitarius. anyone feel free to correct me if im wrong.
In 2012 the world is supposed to end only because that is when the aztec calendar stopped. That doesn't necessarily mean it's true. The Christians believe that the end is near because of all the signs recently, so Nostradamus actually could be right. Pray and maybe we will see.
Oh I love Nostradamus's 'predictions'. Why is it that no one can ever correctly interpret what his quatrains mean until after they occur?!?

Here is a good one for all those die hard fans of the big N. Nostradamus predicted there would be 3 anti-Christs. The first was Napoleon. The Second was Hitler. Okay, so who is the third? 2012 isn't that far away! Someone give me a name! It can't be that hard if Nostradamus was such a genius at predicting the future.

I'll be eagerly waiting to find out.
No, no such thing is ever going to happen. How do you think that somebody could ever predict something like this? It has been proven to be a hoax.

Please stop worrying and I promise you that all of us will live through to the year 2013. The end of the Mayan calender doesn't mean that the world is going to end. How would they know when the world is supposed to end?

This small little thing that isn't even real grew and grew and people thought that they could make money by writing books and making documentaries about it, (and it worked). Please don't get caught up in this hoax, people are cruel they want you to get scared, they want money. :)

I am starting to think some of those visions will come true. We will just have to wait and see. It wasnt just nostradamus who predicted big events leading up to, and during 2012 , but other people and the bible. the next few years will be very interesting.
Nostradamus said nothing about 2012; you've been given misinformation. Most of Nostradamus's predictions have not come true because no one can make any sense of them. The ones that have can just as well be attributed to random chance.
what visions? quatrain numbers, please. bear in mind that many are modern forgeries.

have you ever actually read any of his ravings? you will have an uphill battle convincing me that they mean anything at all.
Most of his ';predictions'; are open to interpretation. As has been said, they are so obscure they could mean anything. The reason for this

is simple-nobody can predict the future. There are too many variables.
As he never actualy pridicted anything to do with 2012 (or anything at all for that matter) no. He just says somthing will happen and it is really vague so it must happen sometime.
No.

Nothing special will happen.
Something is supposed to change. It could be for good or for worse.
