Is it true that the Sony CCD TRV75 camcorder is a rare model that has NightShot which acts like x-ray vision?

I read that people can use these to video night time for UFOs and ghosts because of its rare capability to shoot night vision with an infrared filter. Is there any truth to this?Is it true that the Sony CCD TRV75 camcorder is a rare model that has NightShot which acts like x-ray vision?
Nightshot and supernightshot are Sony trademarks for a video camera that does NOT have an infrared filter. IR filters block IR and are normal on CCD based cameras to prevent false coloring of images. Nightshot camcorders are not FLIR, they are nowhere sensitive enough to measure emited IR of ordinary objects, let alone ghosts. They work in conjunction with an IR illuminator, which works exactly the same as ordinary lights, except in the IR band. the camera picksup the reflected IR and does not see through anything.

The IR illuminator is useful for taking clandestine monochrome pictures in total darkenss without arousing suspicion of the subject. In many jurisdictions this is considered an illegal invasion of a persons expectation of privacy. This is the controversy generated by making the camera available to the public, not the supposed ability to ';see through clothes'; or view ghosts.
